Docket No. 97-NM-154-AD
Abstract
This amendment adopts a new airworthiness directive (AD), applicable to all Dornier Model 328-100 series airplanes, that requires a one-time inspection of the date stamp affixed to the wing deicing boots to determine the cure date, and replacement of the deicing boot with a new boot, if necessary. This amendment is prompted by issuance of mandatory continuing airworthiness information by a foreign civil airworthiness authority. The actions specified by this AD are intended to prevent delamination of the wing deicing boots, and resultant inflation of the deicing boots to a distorted aerodynamic shape during flight, which could result in reduced controllability of the airplane.
