## Abstract

This final rule amends the airworthiness standards for both normal and transport category rotorcraft. This amendment defines critical parts. This document also requires a critical parts list with procedures to control the design, substantiation, manufacture, maintenance, and modification of critical parts. The benefits of the rule will be the formalization of the current critical parts procedures and the harmonization of the Joint Aviation Authorities and the U.S. requirements.
