## Abstract

This final rule implements the Assisted Housing Drug Elimination Program, as authorized by the National Affordable Housing Act and the Housing and Community Development Act of 1992. This program authorizes HUD to make drug elimination grants to owners of federally assisted low-income housing, while previously these grants were only available for public housing agencies and Indian housing authorities. HUD will award these grants for use in eliminating drug-related crime and the problems associated with it.
