## Abstract

The Secretary amends the regulations governing the Student Support Services Program in order to further implement statutory changes made to the Student Support Services Programs authorizing statutes, Sections 402A and 402D of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA), by the Higher Education Amendments of 1992, and to clarify and simplify certain requirements governing the program. In general, the selection criteria, prior experience criteria, and grantee accountability provisions are affected by these changes.
