## Abstract

This rule completes the rulemaking process for an interim rule on HUD's regulations for the HOPE for Homeownership of Single Family Homes Program (HOPE 3) Program and further amends the regulations to comply with the President's regulatory reform initiatives. The rule streamlines HOPE 3 program regulations by eliminating provisions that are redundant of statutes or are otherwise unnecessary, and will make the regulations clearer and more concise. Additional HOPE 3 streamlining proposals that require notice-and-comment rulemaking will be included in a separate proposed rule that HUD expects to publish soon in the Federal Register.
