## Abstract

This interim rule establishes for the section 184 Indian Housing loan guarantee program a new ``direct guarantee'' procedure modelled in part on the FHA single family mortgage insurance ``direct endorsement'' procedure, under which HUD staff are not involved in the processing or approval of individual loans before closing.
