## Abstract

The Secretary amends the regulations governing the Federal Work-Study (FWS) Program authorized under title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (title IV, HEA programs). The Secretary makes these changes in response to the national need to improve student achievement in mathematics by providing for an additional waiver of the FWS institutional-share requirement for mathematics tutors of children who are in elementary school through the ninth grade.
