VOLUNTARY SELF-DISCLOSURE
National Railroad Passenger Corporation self disclosed that they failed to perform a hazardous waste determination on some dust created from a sanding operation.
The facility noted the dust created from sanding operations had not been tested to determine a hazardous substance. Since, they did not know if the waste had been properly handled at the time of the audit, the facility reported the findings as a potential violation.
After performing a hazardous waste determination, the results of the waste came back as non-hazardous.
