Summary

Bratco Operating, Inc. CWA-06-2005-1927 OKU000535 VIOLATIONS: The Respondent's oil field facility was a point source discharge of pollutants, specifically brine, to the receiving waters of a tributary of Copan Lake, located in the Southeast Quarter of Section 27, Township 29 North, Range 12 East, Washington County, Oklahoma. A January 26, 2005 EPA inspection documented the discharge of brine from the facilitys tank battery to the tributary. RELIEF: The Order specifies that the Respondent should immediately cease the discharge of pollutants from the facility and take preventative measures to cease all discharges from the facility. Additionally, the Order requires the Respondent to: (1) Purchase a conductivity meter; and (2) Perform remediation and restoration to the brine impacted area. A follow-up inspection scheduled 30 days after the effective date of the Order will determine the extent of compliance with the Order. Technical Contact: Casey Luckett Snyder 5-7393.
