On November 17, 2008, U.S. EPA, Region 5, filed an Administrative Complaint against National Lime and Stone Company, Carey, Ohio, for violations of the Ohio State Implementation Plan requirements and the facilityÂs Title V operation permit issued by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. The facility owns and operates a non-metallic mineral processing plant at North Patterson Street, Carey, Ohio. The facility violated the Clean Air Act requirements by failing to meet the permit emission limits for organic compounds and carbon monoxide from the pelletized limestone dryer, and thereafter operating out of compliance from November 2003 through October 2007. EPA issued a Notice and Finding of Violation to the facility on March 31, 2008, for these violations.
