U.S. EPA FILES A CONSENT AGREEMENT AND FINAL ORDER WITH THE GLIDDEN COMPANY/ICI PAINTS
On, September 30, 2005, Region 5 filed a combination Complaint/Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) simultaneously initiating and resolving an administrative penalty and compliance action against The Glidden Company/ICI Paints (Glidden) located at 300 Sprowl Road, Huron, Ohio. The CAFO resolves the company�s alleged violations regarding failure to comply with certain regulations found at 40 CFR � 265 Subparts BB and CC of the Air Emission Standards that govern organic air emissions. Specifically, Glidden did not fully comply with the marking and monitoring of the subject equipment and the maintaining of associated records. Also, Glidden failed to perform maximum organic vapor pressure determinations. The CAFO requires Glidden to pay a civil penalty of $100,115.
