C & S WHOLESALE GROCERS INC AND HATFIELD LOGISTICS

Consent Decree (“CD”) that settles an action for violations of Section 112(r) of CAA by C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc. (“C&S”). The Complaint was filed and the CD lodged on 5/16/12. C&S operates a large refrigerated food distribution business with a cold storage warehouse at 95 North Hatfield Road in Hatfield, Massachusetts. EPA initiated an investigation after a release of anhydrous ammonia from the warehouse on May 9, 2007. The Consent Decree requires the company to pay a penalty of $126,700 and perform a SEP (Hazardous Materials Trailer & Equipment Purchase) worth $10,405. The Decree also requires a third-party assessment of the refrigeration system. The CD was entered on 7/26/12
