6/15/11 - CONSENT AGREEMENT AND FINAL ORDER ISSUED, ASSESSING A PENALTY OF $8,000,000 DUE WITHIN 30 DAYS.
This CAFO resolves the penalty associated with alleged violations of the Clean Air Act, New Source Review (prevention of significant deterioration and nonattainment new source review) program at 59 TVA units (and multiple facilities) across three states.
The penalty total for the allegations is $8 million for the federal government.
TVA will be performing significant injunctive relief that is described in a separate document, the Federal Facility Compliance Agreement, which was effective on June 14, 2011.
