U.S. EPA Files an Administrative Complaint and Compliance Order Against Crane Composites, Inc., Channahon, Illinois
On July 5, 2006, USEPA Region 5 filed an Administrative Complaint and Compliance Order (Complaint) against Crane Composites, Inc. (Crane) for violations of the State of Illinois hazardous waste regulations at its installation located in Channahon, Illinois. USEPA observed violations during a compliance evaluation and investigation at Crane in January 2005. The Complaint, which was filed under the authority of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, cites violations in areas including personnel training and recordkeeping, contingency plan, and the generator conditions for a hazardous waste storage permit exemption. The Complaint seeks a civil monetary penalty of $78,484 subject to the receipt and evaluation of additional financial information from Crane.
