Region 10 reached settlement with Pacific Functional Fluids, LLC. (PFF) for violating the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) by failing to properly report the storage of chemicals, including Acetic Acid, Ethylene Glycol, and Potassium Hydroxide, at its facility in Tacoma, Washington. The PFF facility is used for preparation, storage, and distribution of petroleum and other products. PFF failed to file Emergency and Hazardous Chemical Inventory Forms with local emergency response entities in Washington. PFF agreed to pay a penalty of $21,235and to purchase and install a new, state-of-the-art secondary containment system for all its rail car slots. The estimated project cost is $31,261.
