The City of Georgetown, Idaho (City) has agreed to pay a $1,200 penalty to settle violations of the Clean Water Act for unpermitted discharges from the CityÂs wastewater treatment facility (WWTF). This enforcement action was resolved through an administrative consent agreement and final order pursuant to Clean Water Act section 309(g)(2)(B). From January 2006 through December 2010 (except for the months of November 2009 and May 2010) the CityÂs WWTF discharged pollutants without an NPDES permit into a creek which flows into the Bear River. The WWTF treats domestic sewage from local residents and commercial establishments.
