Region 10 Files Expedited Settlement Agreement in Residential Heating Oil Spill Case, Seattle, WA. On June 22, 2011, Region 10 entered an Expedited Settlement Agreement in connection with the 9426 35th Avenue SW case. This enforcement action resulted from a 210-gallon oil spill that occurred in March 2011. The spill was caused when holes in the bottom of the tank caused oil to escape from the tank and enter a nearby storm drain. The spill did not enter Puget Sound, but did reach the storm drain, which flows to Puget Sound. This equipment failure was an accident. The terms of the settlement require Daniel Wick to pay a penalty of $500.
