On September 28, 2011, Region 9 filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CA/FO) resolving RCRA violations by Valley Plating Works Inc. at its facilities located in Commerce and Los Angeles, CA. EPAÂs allegations against Valley Plating Works included: (1) storage of hazardous waste over 90 days without a permit; (2) treatment of hazardous waste without a permit; (3) failure to notify EPA of hazardous waste activity and (4) failure to make a waste determination. Valley Plating Works agrees to pay $48,500 in civil penalties and to perform injunctive relief in the form of pipeline assessment work.
