On April 13, 2012, Region 1 issued a Stop Sale, Use, or Removal Order (SSURO) to Exergen Corporation of Watertown, Massachusetts for violating FIFRA. The SSURO was issued pursuant to Section 13(a) of FIFRA and the violations involved the sale and distribution of three unregistered and misbranded pesticides and the failure to register its pesticide-producing establishment(s) with EPA. The SSURO is intended to ensure compliance with FIFRA by halting the sale, use or removal of violative pesticides. The action will protect against unreasonable adverse effects on human health and environment.
