Sargent Manufacturing Company has agreed to pay $39,705 to resolve violations of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, the federal hazardous waste management regulations, and ConnecticutÂs hazardous waste management regulations. The violations included failure to: have an adequate hazardous waste training program, close containers of hazardous waste, maintain adequate aisle space, mark containers with the beginning accumulation date, update and submit revised contingency plan to local authorities, and manage hazardous waste in accordance with the requirements for satellite accumulation area. After the inspection, Sargent acted promptly to bring its facility into compliance with the hazardous waste management requirements.
