As a result of an internal compliance audit conducted by facility staff, GE Osmonics discovered and voluntarily disclosed that the lead and sulfuric acid in their lead-acid batteries exceeded the reporting thresholds for EPCRA 311/312 Tier II reporting. GE Osmonics met all nine conditions needed to have the gravity based penalties waived pursuant to the Small Business Compliance Policy.
