EPA is seeking a civil administrative penalty against Calpine CCFC GP, Inc. and Calpine Construction Finance Company, LP.,( Calpine )under the RCRA hazardous waste regulations for $13,500. EPA is alleging that Calpine's subsidiary company the Sutter Energy Center lcoated in Yuba City, CA, violated RCRA when it released regulated levels of arsenic into the environment, posing a harm to its workers. The facility returned to compliance when it installed new engineering controls to prevent further releases of arsenic at its Zero Liquid Discharge Building on-site.
