On November 19, 2013, Region 1 filed a CAFO resolving Clean Water Act violations at Alvin J. Coleman & Son, IncÂs sand and gravel mining facility located in Conway, New Hampshire. On September 12, 2013, EPA issued an administrative complaint against the company alleging stormwater discharge and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure plan violations. The company has agreed to pay a $104,000 penalty to resolve this matter. The Region has worked in close coordinator with the State of New Hampshire in this action.
