Wayne Disposal Inc., a subsidiary of EQ: The Environmental Company, relies on passive flares for the control of municipal solid waste landfill gas emissions in older areas. This CAFO resolves penalty collection that addresses the companyÂs alleged failure to properly maintain thermocouples, pressure data loggers, and temperature data loggers for the passive vent flares, its failure to maintain and operate air pollution control equipment in a manner consistent with good air pollution control practice for minimizing emissions, failure to monitor the flares to ensure that they are operated and maintained in conformance with their designs, using an expired calibration gas required for surface monitoring, and corresponding violations of Section 3 of the Renewable Operating Permit and Section 502 of the CAA.
