On August 12, 2014, Region 10 filed a consent agreement and final order that resolves RCRA hazardous waste violations at the SeaCast, Inc. metal casting facility in Marysville, Washington, located within the boundaries of the Tulalip Indian reservation. The company failed to maintain records of its hazardous waste determinations, and stored hazardous wastes at the facility without obtaining a permit or complying with conditions applicable to hazardous waste generators. SeaCast agreed to implement a supplemental environmental project that will reduce the facilitys use of caustic cleaning solutions and is expected to result in a 40% reduction in the volume of hazardous wastes generated. The company also agreed to implement procedures to ensure future RCRA compliance and to pay a penalty of $18,000.
