On December 5, 2014, Region 10 settled with Glytek, Inc. for violations of EPCRA 304/CERCLA103 that resulted from a sulfuric acid spill on November 21, 2012 at its facility in Twin Falls, Idaho. Gly-Tek, Inc. failed to immediately report the 24,700 pound 50% sulfuric acid spill to federal, state and local authorities. EPCRA Section 304 and CERCLA Section 103 require companies to immediately report unregulated releases that exceed the reportable quantity, which is 1000 pounds for sulfuric acid. The company agreed to pay a $25,000 penalty.
