EPA Issues CAFO to Marquis Energy - Wisconsin, LLC, Necedah, Wisconsin: EPA issued a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) commencing and concluding an action against Marquis Energy - Wisconsin, LLC (Marquis) for alleged violations of the Clean Air Act. The CAFO alleges that Marquis violated federally-enforceable permit conditions for operating limits at a thermal oxidizer, packed bed water scrubber, and multiple baghouses. The CAFO also alleges that Marquis violated the Wisconsin SIP by failing to operate the fermentation process in a manner consistent with reducing emissions of volatile organic compounds and hazardous air pollutants. The CAFO requires Marquis to pay a $100,000 penalty.
