Penalty: On August 14, 2014, EPA Region 6 issued an Administrative Order (AO) and Administrative Penalty Order (APO) under its authority pursuant to Section 309 of the Clean Water Act to Chevron Mining, Inc. (Respondent), for effluent limitation violations at its Ancho Mine, located in Colfax County, NM. The AO and APO were issued in response to violations of NPDES Permit Number NM0030180. The AO requires Chevron Mining, Inc. to take specific actions to address violations of the facility's permit limits for aluminum. Chevron Mining Inc., must respond to EPA Region 6 within thirty days of issuance of the AO.
