The United States Environmental Protection Agency, Region 2 and the National Enforcement Information Center conducted a Data Quality inspection at the facility on June 10 and 11, 2013 to determine regulatory compliance regarding the filing of Toxic Chemical Release Inventory Form A and Form R reports under Section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act. Based on documents provided during and post-inspection and discussions over the phone, it appears that the facility otherwise used cobalt sulfate in years 2010, 2011 and 2012 in amounts that exceeded the 10,000 pound threshold. The final penalty was $15,458 which included a Pollution Prevention SEP valued at $55,000.
