On July 19, 2016, EPA Region 6 issued a CAFO under its authority pursuant to CAA to Schuetz Container Systems, Inc., located in Pasadena, Texas. The CAFO was issued in response to violations of the respondent failing to design and maintain a safe facility and did not taking such necessary steps to prevent accidental releases by failing to accurately track the classification of chemicals as to prevent chemical reactions, which upon failure released hazardous substances to the ambient air. The CAFO requires Schuetz to pay $37,500 to Region 6 within 30 days of the effective date of the order.
