The Regional Judicial Officer approved an expedited settlement agreement with Fraticelli Oil Company of Leominster, MA resolving Clean Water Act violations. In 2017, a tanker truck rolled over resulting in a spill of 1,000 gallons of #2 fuel oil onto the highway in Littleton, MA. Some of the oil entered the highway stormwater conveyance system and approximately 210 gallons reached wetlands associated with Beaver Brook. The company responded promptly to the spill and took action to contain, recover and clean up the spill. The settlement requires a $2,300 penalty.
