Region 10 Settles with Brighton Corporation Inc. & Pentalon Construction (Boise, Idaho) for Clean Water Act Violations
On September 24, 2018, Region 10 filed an expedited settlement agreement resolving violations of the Clean Water Act by Brighton Corporation Inc. & Pentalon Construction, located in Boise, Idaho. Respondents, operators of the Arboretum at Barber Station construction site; failed to conduct stormwater inspections, failed to maintain documentation of inspections conducted, failed to install and maintain BMPs, and failed to stabilize portions of disturbed earth not under active construction. Since soil stabilization and BMPs are crucial to preventing sediment, and other pollutants, from entering the Boise River, the environmental benefit of this action is a reduction in the potential for a pollutant discharge to waters of the U.S. The Respondents agree to pay a penalty of $3,300.
