On July 18, 2018, EPA Region Ill filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order simultaneously commencing and concluding an administrative action proceeding against Custom Contractors & Remodeling, Inc. for alleged violations of TSCA and EPA's RRP Rule in connection with renovations for compensation on pre-1978 housing located at 5410 El Camino-2A, 9625 Whiteacre Road-A3, and 5709 Harpers Farm Road-D in Columbia, Maryland conducted in 2015 and 2016. The alleged violations included failing to obtain firm re-certification, failure to assign a certified renovators, failure to provide EPA-approved lead hazard pamphlets, and failing to retain records demonstrating compliance with lead safe work practices. Per the terms of the
CAFO, Respondent will pay a civil penalty in the amount of $350. The Maryland Department of the Environment's Lead Poisoning Prevention Program was notified and did not object to this
action.
