The US EPA and Kamehameha Schools (Respondent) of Honolulu, Hawaii, entered into this Consent Agreement and Final Order (CA/FO) to settle Respondent's alleged violations of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) and the Underground Injection Control (UIC) requirements by failure to close the large capacity cesspool (LCC) at it's Volcano Golf and Country Club facility in Volcano, Hawaii. Respondent paid a civil penalty of $99,531 and must close the LCC and comply with applicable State requirements for any replacement system that may be installed.
