On July 25, 2019, EPA Region III filed a Consent Agreement and Final Order (CAFO) regarding the United States Government Publishing Office, located at 732 North Capitol Street, NW, Washington, DC. The CAFO addresses violations of the CAA (violations of its Title V permit and also of the stationary refrigeration regulations) and the RCRA Subtitle C requirements (violation of generator requirements). The settlement requires a payment of $140,000 (CAA-$103,600; RCRA-$36,400). Throughout the entire enforcement process, Region III coordinated with the District Department of Energy and the Environment (DOEE) and DOEE is supportive of Region III's efforts.
