On August 1, 2019, Region 1 issued a Clean Air Act Administrative Order (AO) to Genesis Marketing Group, LTD of North Providence, Rhode Island. Genesis, whose operations include polishing military brass buckles and other acrylic and Lucite (plastic) products, operates a halogenated solvent (TCE) degreaser at its facility and is subject to the National Emission Standards for Halogenated Solvent Cleaning found at 40 C.F.R. Part 63, Subpart T. The facility is in violation of several reporting violations, including initial notification and filing annual reports. The AO requires compliance within 90 days.
