Region 10 Settles with EcoLube Recovery, LLC. (Tacoma, Washington) for CWA Violations
On June 25, 2020, Region 10 filed a consent agreement and final order resolving violations of the Clean
Water Act by EcoLube Recovery, LLC Located in Tacoma, Washington. Respondent, which operates a
transfer station for used oil , discharged pollutants to waters of the U.S. and was found to be operating
in violation of the Washington State Multi-Sector General Permit. Violations include failure to
document inspections, failure to monitor the discharge, and failure to implement corrective action. The
company is now operating in compliance and doing so will reduce the amount of stormwater discharges
into Commencement Bay. Commencement Bay is anadromous fish passage water. The company
agreed to pay a penalty of $26,500.
