On July 13, 2020, Region 1 issued a Clean Air Act Administrative Order to the Tewksbury State Hospital of Tewksbury, Massachusetts. The hospital, operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, will be required to comply with notification and reporting requirements and prepare and submit to EPA a site-specific monitoring plan pertaining to the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for stationary reciprocating internal combustion engines, found at 40 CFR Part 63, Subpart ZZZZ. EPA identified the violations through a review of Tewksbury State Hospital's emissions test report pertaining to testing conducted of the two engines maintained by the hospital.
