On May 16, 2023, the Region issued an Administrative Compliance Order to the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth for a violation of its 2016 Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit, citing its failure to submit a Year 4 MS4 annual report due by September 28, 2022. The Order requires the University to submit its Year 4 MS4 annual report within 30 days of receipt of the Order. Submission of the annual report is important for EPA to know how well the University is implementing its MS4 program. The Region coordinated with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection on this matter.
