On November 8, Region 3 issued a Notice of Refusal of Admission (NORA) to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to refuse admission of an unregistered pesticide imported by Mosquito BioSci, LLCof Sarasota, FL, imported through the UPS Hub of Philadelphia. It is a violation of FIFRA to sell or distribute unregistered pesticides. The importer must export the pesticide out of the country or destroy it according to state and local regulations, and must provide documentation to Region 3. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture was copied on the NORA, and FIFRA registration violations are exempt from EJ screen.
