On August 13, 2025, EPA issued an Administrative Order (AO) to LBOC, LLC for violation of the Clean Water Act (CWA), 33 U.S.C. ?? 1251-1387. The violation was identified during an inspection conducted by the EPA on December 13, 2023, at the Baker Sand Unit Tank Battery for the unauthorized discharge of pollutants, specifically produced water (brine), to a water of the United States. The AO requires the company to cease unpermitted discharges of pollutants from the facility, remove and remediate the flow path from the point of discharge to the point of entry into an unnamed tributary of the Ouachita River, and submit a Pollution Prevention Plan to prevent similar occurrences within 30 calendar days of the effective date of the Order.
