An Administrative Order was issued to Mr. James Peyrot d/b/a Redbone Cattle on July 12, 2007, for violating Section 301 of the Clean Water Act; specifically, the improper handling of animal wastes. Responding to a citizenÂs complaint, an EPA inspector met with Mr. Peyrot on June 5, 2007, to review the operationÂs animal waste handling. During this inspection, the inspector discovered piles of animal waste adjacent to Caney Creek. Mr. Peyrot said he had cleaned the pens and recent rains had prevented removal of the waste piles. The runoff from these waste piles into Caney Creek, the proper storage of animal wastes, and pollution prevention were discussed with Mr. Peyrot,. This Order requires removal of the waste piles and the development of a plan for proper waste storage to prevent further similar discharges.
