## Summary

On September 28, 2006, U.S. EPA issued Steel Dynamics, Inc. (SDI) a Notice and Finding of Violation.   U.S. EPA alleges that SDI was not adhering to Subpart AAa’s opacity standard of 3 percent for emissions from the baghouse used to control the facility’s subject EAFs, was  not fully following the reporting provisions of Subpart AAa, and that the facility has not used good engineering practices in the operation of the facility’s baghouse and continuous opacity meter.
