This involves violations at eight sand and gravel, cement and ready mix concrete facilities owned by Lafarge North America, Inc. in New York. Other Lafarge facilities in other regions are also being referred. Violations of general permits and individual SPDES permits issued by NYSDEC include, among others: failure to obtain permit coverage, failure to conduct monitoring and/or site evaluations, failure to maintain and follow adequate SWPPPs, as well as effluent violations.
