The Complaint alleges violations of RCRA found during an inspection conducted by the EPA at the Tufts University Health Sciences Campus, located at 136 Harrison Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts, on September 25-28, 2006. At the time of EPAÂs inspection, ignitable and reactive hazardous wastes were being stored in a storage building located two meters from the Campus property line, in violation of the Massachusetts regulation that requires containers of such waste to be located at least 15 meters from the facility property line. The Compliance Order requires the Trustees of Tufts College to cease the storage of ignitable and reactive hazardous waste in the hazardous waste storage area located at 37 Tyler Street, Boston within 30 days of receipt of the Order. Within 60 days, a hazardous waste storage facility located at least 15 meters from the Campus property line must be constructed or established in accordance with state requirements.
