The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked outside in the driveway, unoccupied, suddenly there was a loud explosion, and the vehicle caught on fire. The contact stated that the fire spread to the garage and a vehicle parked nearby. The local fire department arrived on scene to extinguish the fire. The source of the fire remained under investigation. A Police report was filed. The local dealer was contacted. The vehicle and the other vehicle parked nearby were deemed total losses. The vehicles were towed to a local tow yard as per the insurance provider. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by telephone. The failure mileage was approximately 13,000
