After using the Cosco Scenera Extend Convertible Car Seat for Infants and Toddlers for just a few days (3 days) my 16 month old son has experienced significant bruising on his lower back and spine! The frame of the car seat itself has an indention beneath the padding which I’m uncertain what purpose it serves other then the fact that if a child is rear facing at the angle appropriate for rear facing children the pressure of the angle this indention in the frame is at causes painful sharp pressure on a babies fragile spine. I’d say the scoop like placement on the frame is about 3 vertebrae above the sacrum, again a very fragile and sensitive area to a young baby. This car seat is absolutely not safe for a child of any age and is poorly designed to keep small children’s safety in mind.
