## Narrative
On July 27, 2026, while driving westbound on SR-62, the vehicle unexpectedly moved laterally and collided with the left-rear area of a commercial tractor-trailer. In the days before the crash, I recall hearing a knocking noise from the front and experiencing the vehicle pulling, but I did not understand these as signs of a safety defect. After the crash, the right-front upper suspension/steering-knuckle connection was catastrophically separated and displaced, the wheel and hub were out of their normal position, and the vehicle was not drivable. Photographs and videos preserve the post-crash condition. The vehicle was subject to an unrepaired JLR D041/NHTSA 25V-514 safety recall for cracking of the front suspension upper knuckle joint. The recalled defect can cause the upper suspension arm to detach, compromise vehicle controllability, and increase the risk of a crash. The same failure mechanism is under NHTSA Engineering Analysis EA26003. The police report attributed the vehicle’s movement toward the adjacent lane to an unsafe lane change. However, no component-level mechanical inspection was performed, and the recalled steering-knuckle condition was not evaluated. I did not intentionally initiate a lane change. The vehicle’s observed trajectory is consistent with, but does not by itself prove, a sudden loss of directional control caused by a suspension or steering failure. An independent collision-repair assessment documents major right-front suspension, steering, wheel,
