## Narrative

On the ground level of the methyl acrylic acid (MAS) unit, an expansion joint became over-pressurized and exploded.  An employee in the area came in contact with MAS. One employee received chemical burns on his face, left arm, left mid-back, and left shoulder and was hospitalized.
