## Narrative

An employee lifted a rare earth magnet from a materials hopper. He handed the magnet to a second employee. The second employee took the magnet and began to set the magnet down on an adjacent piece of equipment. As the second employee set the magnet down, the magnet pulled itself to the piece of equipment that he was going to place it on. His left-hand ring finger was crushed between the magnet and the equipment and had to be surgically amputated at the first knuckle.
